Commissioned Officers

SECOND LIEUTENANT (2LT) O1

Typically the entry-level rank for most Commissioned Officers. Leads platoon-size elements consisting of the platoon SGT and two or more squads. Second Lieutenant is the beginning of the Commissioned Officer program. A Second Lieutenant will be a Platoon Leader, and will be responsible for leading their platoon, both on and off the field,or they will lead a clan department (if a leadership position is available.) Each Platoon Leader will be assisted by a Platoon Sergeant, a senior Non-commissioned Officer with plenty of experience.

Requirements
  • Member has applied for the Commissioned Officer Program, been accepted, and completed all necessary training
  • Member has demonstrated a track record of both leadership and sound judgement both on and off the battlefield.
  • Member is E-4 or above.
  • Member should be 18 years of age.(Younger by the approval of the Company Commander)
Privileges
  • Member may be assigned to a Platoon Leader position
  • Member is eligible to join a Clan Department
  • Member is eligible to lead a Clan Department if another member of higher rank is not already a member of that department

FIRST LIEUTENANT (1LT) O2

As a senior Lieutenant, they are often selected to be the Executive Officer of a company-sized unit. Each Company will have an Executive Officer. The Executive Officer is responsible for assisting the Company Commander with administrative tasks in running the Company. To be a Company Executive Officer, an officer will need to have served as a Platoon Leader for a minimum of 12 weeks and be a First Lieutenant. The ratio is simple: one First Lieutenant for each company on an as needed basis.

  • Member has lived up to all requirements of 2LT
  • Member has been an O1 for a minimum of 12 weeks
Privileges
  • Member may be assigned to a Company Executive Officer position
  • Member is eligible to join a Clan Department
  • If the member joins a Clan Department, that member may receive a clan email address
  • Member is eligible to lead a Clan Department if another member of higher rank is not already a member of that department

CAPTAIN (CPT) O3

Commands and controls company-sized units, together with a principal NCO assistant, typically a 1SG. This is also the entry point for Master NCO’s making the transition to the Commissioned Officer program. Each Company will need a Company Commander. In order to be eligible for command of a company, a soldier will need to be at the rank of Captain, and have served as a Company Executive Officer or a Company First Sergeant for 16 weeks. Again, this ratio is on an as needed basis: one Captain for each company.

  • Member has lived up to all requirements of 1LT
  • Member has been a 1LT or 1SG for a minimum of 16 weeks
Privileges
  • Member may be assigned to a Company Commander position.
  • Member is eligible to join a Clan Department
  • If the member joins a Clan Department, that member may receive a clan email address
  • Member is eligible to lead a Clan Department if another member of higher rank is not already a member of that department
